“The Best Day Ever” Film Screening on January 25th

Antioch University New England and the Monadnock Progressive Alliance Education Group announce a free public screening of the short documentary “The Best Day Ever” on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at 7 pm at the Keene Public Library. The film reveals the magic going on in local public school kindergartens where teachers take their students outdoors one full day every week, all year, in any weather.

Inspired by European Forest Kindergartens, a handful of teachers in the Upper Valley began dedicating one day-per-week to nature-based play and learning five years ago. The idea, since featured on National Public Radio and on The Atlantic Education blog, has caught the attention of parents and educators nationwide. Regionally, dozens of classrooms now spend frequent time in wild spaces, cooking over campfires, and learning and playing outdoors.

There will be a Q&A session after the film.

Join us at this fun event to discover/learn more about local resources for Home Visitors and others who work with young children and families. Come network with others who care about young children and their families, learn about the new Monadnock Home Visiting Alliance Community of Practice, and walk away with resources and connections to support your work!

Light refreshments will be served. Snow date (if needed) will be February 7, 2018 at the same time and location.

This event is sponsored by the Monadnock Home Visiting Alliance (MHVA), a new initiative of Monadnock United Way/Impact  Monadnock. The vision of MHVA is to support at-risk families of children pre-natal to age 5 by expanding and strengthening best practice home visiting programs in the Monadnock Region. In March 2018 the MHVA will initiate a Community of Practice.
