Advocacy Opportunities Next Week

Want to learn how to be an advocate for change in your community? Looking to share your thoughts on what early childhood education should look like in the Monadnock region?

Impact Monadnock invites you to attend these upcoming events:

September 18th, 5:30 – 8 PM @ Keene Family YMCA, 200 Summit Rd, Keene, NH

“Lead the Change! Be an Advocate.” Advocacy experts from New Futures Kids Count and NH Children’s Trust will lead hands-on training based on real world scenarios. Attendees will learn how to develop leadership and civic engagement skills. Guest speakers will include: NH Senators Jay Kahn & Ruth Ward, VT Senate Majority Leader & Keene Y member Becca Balint, & Jennifer Carroll of the Historical Society of Cheshire County. Community Action Forums coming soon to a school near you

Community_Conversations_Flyer_08292016-rev3Don’t forget! Impact Monadnock, Monadnock Region school districts, and River Valley Community College will be hosting Monadnock Region Community Action Forums on Early Childhood in the upcoming weeks.

These forums will offer:

  • Opportunities for communities to make their voices heard about the challenges facing our young children and families and how best to tackle them.
  • Opportunities to create understanding and awareness of the importance of investing in early childhood as a way to improve the overall well-being of the Monadnock Region.

Forums will be facilitated by New Hampshire Listens, a civic engagement initiative of the Carsey School of Public Policy at the University of New Hampshire. New Hampshire Listens works at the local and state level to support civil, public deliberation of complex issues affecting everyday lives.
